The New Zealand Sail One Winter Championships

The 2008 New Zealand Sail One Winter Championships

Thanks to everyone who has made the past three days a great success.

A special thank you to our main sponsors, Keith and Kathy Elliot from Sail One for your continued support for our young sailors within New Zealand.  It's been great having you both with us over the weekend and also having your merchandise with an array of spare parts and sailing gear on hand to purchase when required during the regatta.  It's a great service and one a lot of people have learnt to appreciate.

To those of you who have made the trip from far and away - thanks for making the effort to participate in our regatta and we hope you all enjoyed your stay here in Auckland.  It was great meeting you all and the help we received from you was much appreciated.

Our sincere thanks to all the other local Sailing Clubs who supplied us with gear and support boats and people to help us run the regatta.

Saturday 4th October - boats hitting the water for the first of 4 back to back races

Coaching Clinic

The goal of the coaching was to emphasize how much fun sailing is and to improve the skills.

There were brief talks about nutrition, fitness and boat preparation.  Two great days on the water with all the sailors going away happy and ready for the upcoming season.

There were other coaches on Monday that unfortunately were not in the photos.  They were Mike Bullot, Riley Dean and Briar Dye Hutchinson.

The board coaches were Luke Wigglesworth and Haley Thom.
